I’m so scared!

Hello all, I am new here and newly diagnosed. I am terrified. I don’t know anything. I am so scared, scared for my children and husband. I don’t know what to do…
@Marleenw

Don’t be afraid. Get yourself on a good medication! 1. Food changes EVERYTHING. be the healthiest person ! Try to quit smoking if you do. Cut on gluten (research shows it’s linked to inflammation in ms.) 2. Cut some sugar. You body will change not only improve ms. But digestive and fatigue will change 3. Look for a silver lining ! It’s manageable 4. Dr. Terry Walhis she had progressive ms and reverted her symptoms learned how to walk. Read her book! 5. Mins over matter. You will be okay. Believe in yourself you’re a mother not a lot of people can do what you do. If you can take on easing lives this will not get you down. Get into a routine. Do some reading. Bring down inflammation with food and exercise Everything will be okay! I promise. I’ve had this 7 years. Fear held me back but I’m a miracle my doctor says. You got this !

It’s so scary, I understand. I was where you are this past winter. It will be okay though. Eat well, rest as often as you can, and advocate for yourself with your medical team. Don’t Google and stay off Reddit!!! You’ve already found shift.ms, a great online community. There are some great MS’ers on Instagram as well. We’re here if you want to chat. It will be okay.
