Optical neuritis

Hi everyone. İ have blurred vision on my left eye and from time to time on my right eye I have black points like things. I am told that I have optical neuritis. Does anyone have similar experience? How to treat optical neuritis?
@PeterFrancis

Optic Neuritis is usually temporary, recovers on it's own. Therre are steroid treatments availlable but side affects can occur. I have experienced Op Neuritis on and off since diagnosis.

@ItsMewithMS

Are you certain it is ON caused by MS? Have you had an MRI to see if you have an active lesion? When I was having an active flare shown on an MRI my Neuro would put me on a prednisone program which would shut down symptoms within a couple of days. Apparently it is common for ON to be the first symptom of MS but it can be caused by many different things. I was just at Mayo and described what was called ON before I was officially diagnosed and they said that was an uncommon set of ON symptoms to be linked to MS. I saw various patterns in blind spots that weren't enough to affect my overall vision. That first time it lasted for a few months but the ones I have had more recently last less than an hour. They said it sounded more like an Optical Migraine and after looking it up I think they are right. I also went to my eye doctor first and he was the one that said my problem was not in the eye itself but in the Optic Nerve...but that can be impacted by many things...one of them being MS. In my case that is what they said it was but it has really been Optical Migraines. It is interesting that ON never acted up during the flares...it seemed that my gait and right foot were my weakness and now that I am slipping into SPMS my gait is worsening. My vision is fine. We all have our weaknesses...just better to know what they are to treat them properly.
